My name is Blessing Jacob and I am a postgraduate student at Gombe State University, Nigeria, currently undertaking a research study on the impact of NGOs on poverty reduction among the working-age population in Gombe metropolis. In the course of my research, I have identified the Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI) as a valuable tool for assessing poverty levels and tracking changes over time.

Hi, I am new to this tool and just started to browse around. Though I like the simplicity of the excel tool, it still either requires an excel-enabled laptop in the field or a error-prone and workload-heavy manual data entry process. In most of the countries on the list, android-based smart phones are widely spread, and the requirements of an app that does this data collection ann analysis are minimal. It feels like creating an app for dezentral data collection and central data storage, consolidation and analysis could be done with minimal effort.

Dear Forum members. Apologies if my question has been discussed before. How regularly are the PPIs for the different countries updated? Especially, the analysis tool. I am asking this in relation to the updated international extreme poverty line which now stands at $2.15 per day. Is this reflected in the analysis tools?

The Ecuador Interview Guidance repeatedly references the Enumerator Manual (2019). I have looked through the resources, but I haven't been able to find one, either specific to Ecuador or more general. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi! We would very much like to use PPI for our undergraduate thesis. However, we are required to present evidences of its validity and reliability, which I cannot find in this site. Would you be able to provide me a link to a site or paper I can review to obtain such values? Thank you!

Looking forward for your kind suggestions.

Please clarify to determine national poverty likelihoods from PPI scores, which column should be used: 100%, 150%, 200%, "poorest half". I'm not clear on what the percentages are referring to. Thank you.

Hello - I am interested in using the PPI for Vietnam and Tanzania, which were last updated in 2009 and 2016 respectively.

I would like to know if there is any update or plan to update the PPI for these countries, or any guidelines regarding how the questions might be updated?

Thank you very much!

Emma
